Sejarah Singkat STAT<\/strong><\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Menyibak sejarah berdirinya Sekolah Tinggi Alkitab Tiranus<\/a>, bagaikan menyimak serial kisah keajaiban Tuhan. Tuhan memberi kepastian berdirinya Tiranus sampai hari ini dan Dia pulalah menjadi andalan pelayanan Tiranus. Berdirinya Sekolah Tinggi Alkitab Tiranus tidak lepas dari mandat agung Tuhan Yesus (Mat.28:19-20) dan konteks di Jawa Barat. Sekolah Tinggi Alkitab Tiranus sebagai perguruan tinggi teologi Injili-Alkitabiah adalah yang pertama di Bandung, bahkan yang pertama di Jawa Barat yang menyelenggarakan program pasca sarjana. Kini di Bandung apalagi Jawa Barat telah berdiri cukup banyak kampus pendidikan teologi. Hal ini menunjukan betapa gairah pelayanan rohani mengalami peningkatan.<\/p>\n

Adalah sepasang suami istri Prof. Dr. W.Stanley Heath dan ibu Adeleide Heath-Jhonson yang datang dari Amerika Serikat. Mereka datang ke Bandung pada 17 Oktober 1961. Kemudian bersama Ir. Gerrit Johan Tiendas, pada tahun 1966, yang memiliki keyakinan dari Tuhan untuk memulai suatu pelayanan pelatihan dan penginjilan pribadi secara lebih teratur di Bandung. Nama Tiranus terambil dari nast Alkitab Kisah Para Rasul 19:9. Pada mulanya nama resminya adalah Institut Tiranus, dan motonya Sumber Berita Injil. Tetapi pada 7 Januari 2010 bentuk dan nama lembaga ini berubah menjadi Sekolah Tinggi Alkitab Tiranus.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Prof. Dr. Stanley Heat, yang akrab disapa dengan \u201cPak Heath\u201d adalah seorang Profesor berkebangsaan Amerika Serikat.\u00a0Beliau dikirim dari Kentucky Team di ITB. Sedangkan Pak Tiendas adalah seorang putera pendeta yang saat itu berstatus sebagai mahasiswa ITB. Keduanya telah memulai kegiatan latihan penginjilan pribadi sejak tahun 1963. Inilah yang jadi cikal bakal Tiranus.<\/p>\n

Pada 12 Juli 1966 Institut Tiranus diresmikan dan Kampus Pertama di Jl. Kampus Ketiga di jalan Supratman 33, Bandung (1974-1976). Di kampus inilah Tiranus memulai program sarjananya, yaitu pada tahun 1974. Pada awal didirikan Sekolah Tinggi Alkitab Tiranus hanya menyelenggarakan Program Diploma dan Sarjana Teologi. Lalu kemudian diselenggarakan program pascasarjana. Program pascasarjana Master of Divinity dan Master of Arts. Seiring dengan perkembangannya maka Tiranus telah menyelenggarakan Program Magister Teologi dan Program Doktor Teologi.
